Be Otherworldly

Be Otherworldly it says, this list of ways to be.
I’m not sure what it means
but it is attractive, this idea that there can be other worlds
and we can be of them.
I am choosing a second planet where it is impossible to feel cold.
In this other world someone always loves me and I love them back
so it is impossible to feel unloved or left out or lonely or lost.
There are serene skies and soft rain
but no storms to shake the roof or blow away the windows.
It is impossible not to feel safe in this other world.
There are no predators, no snakes or biting insects, jelly fish or sharks.
There are no germs or suffering. There is no hunger,
food drops ripe from nearby branches.
Here there is music of the spheres, everything is harmonious.
There is no discord, there is no evil or anguish.
It is impossible to feel pain.
There is no death.
This other world is immortality.
I shall be otherworldly.
And now I know it’s there,
I shall always be on the look out for this other Garden of Eden,
looking for the door, not to miss it, standing ajar,
Waiting for me to inhabit it
